Diving Classes.

Living on a Caribbean island offers a lot of exciting of things to do for recreation. On the Amber Coast ( the north coast ) of the Dominican Republic we have lots of eco tourism to do , from hiking, kite surfing, surfing, and diving being one of the most popular. Diving has been one of the sports I have always wanted to do.  I grew up on the New Jersey coast and the ocean has always been a part of my life. Now that I live in Sosua and Casa De Compai is where I am comfortable taking time off it was the perfect opportunity to get diving certified .

Sea Horses are a sign of a healthy reef.

Living in a small town is wonderful. I grew up in a small town so it is very comfortable for me, and the personal connections go a long way. One of my friends in my fantasy football  league is Luke from Superior Dive Sosua ( http://superiordivesosua.com ) so naturally it would be Luke to teach me to dive. Luke just opened up his own dive shop this year after many years  of working in different shop here in Sosua. Given his many certifications and experience along with a very low key, easy going personality it was time for Luke to start his own business. I am very happy to see Luke having the success he is having. With myself expanding my business it was only natural to work together to provide a service that doesn’t exist in Sosua , dive packages!  You can book your dive vacation on either of our websites or contact us directly. When you need your pool training that is done at Casa De Compai !!

Here in Sosua we have numerous reefs and even wrecks to go diving on ( for the advanced divers) both shallow and deeper dives. I enjoy seeing the view of my favorite beach from the ocean. I love looking back at the land and see the mountains in the distance, while being able to down into the clear blue water.

One of the other things I can’t wait to do while diving is go hunting lion fish. These fish are not native to the Caribbean and they have no natural predators so they decimate the local fish populations. I have to good friends Bill Passmore (https://www.billpassmore.com ) and Bill form Philadelphia to go hunting lion fish with.

I hope when visitors come to Sosua they take the opportunity to do some of the wonderful activities that are available here on the Amber Coast.

 Thank you reading my blog!!!
